More About Jackie
After 3 years studying at City of Leeds and Carnegie College, Jackie qualified as a teacher in 1972 and went on to teach full time until 2001. 12 years of this time were spent with the RAF in Germany, during which time she became involved with the MT Driving School as a driving instructor. Over a 10 year period she taught a number of servicemen’s wives to drive, all of whom passed their tests first time! It was this experience which encouraged her to choose driving instuction when she decided to make a career change in 2001.
After qualifying as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in December 2002, passing all 3 qualifying exams first time, Jackie went on to pass the Diamond Advanced Special Test, the highest standard in advanced driving, in June 2004.
In September that year she qualified as a Corporate Driver Trainer, together with the qualification to deliver the National Driver Improvement Scheme, with the Driving Instructors Association, thus allowing her to become a DSA registered Fleet Driver Trainer (currently there are only around 2000 out of the 40,000 registered ADIs on this register).![]()

In May 2006, after successfully passing the 5 exams she needed to complete, Jackie gained the prestigious Diploma in Driving Instruction,
allowing her to use the letters Dip.DI after her name. Only a small minority of instructors hold this qualification, demonstrating Jackie’s commitment to continuing her personal professional development. In September of that year Jackie also qualified as a Diamond Advanced Examiner.
Jackie regularly attends conferences, courses and workshops to ensure she is up-to-date with all initiatives within the industry, as well as continuing to increase her personal breadth of knowledge of this subject. She is particularly interested in psychology and how the brain works, and is about to begin studies into driver behaviour, hopefully leading to a Masters Degree in Driver Education.
