Does the thought of reverse parking turn you into a gibbering wreck?
How long ago did you pass your driving test? If you passed prior to 1991 then you were probably not taught how to reverse park as this was not a driving test requirement until that year. Click the link above to watch a video showing a disastrous attempt at reverse parking (the video tells us the driver is female, but there’s no visual proof of that!).
It is a recognised fact that the female brain, as a general rule, finds difficulty computing reversing skills as we find it difficult to work out which way to turn the steering wheel. The male brain, on the other hand, is able to visualise this without thinking about it, so they ridicule us ladies for struggling with this task they deem so simple! Still, we go along with this in the happy knowledge that their multi-tasking skills are rubbish!
So, joking apart ladies, how about coming along to learn how to master this reversing thing so you can surprise your man? Or just come and do it for your own satisfaction and to know you don’t have to keep driving around any more until you find a spot big enough to drive into forwards (or give up and go home!).
Give me a call and we’ll arrange a one hour session together so you will be able to reverse park between 2 vehicles at the side of the road (this is referred to as reverse parallel park) and reverse park into a bay. Reverse bay parking is particularly useful in supermarket car parks where there is a service footpath, so you can safely load your shopping into the boot from the safety of the footpath.

Psst!! If you’re male, and are rubbish at parking, you can come too. I promise I won’t tell anyone!!
Just one 1hr lesson was all it took for Wendy to succeed! Before this one lesson with me she was bumping her car reversing out of her driveway with amazing regularity! Now she tells me her car is ‘bump free’!
Good news, with Richard’s help I am now confident at reversing out of our driveway and with left hand reversing. I would like to thank you for your support and guidance in helping me achieve this result!!!!
I therefore no longer need any more refresher lessons with yourself, but would like to wish you every success for the future.
